Jack E. Vaughn

Chairman & CEO

Jack is a founder and currently Chairman and CEO of Peak Exploration & Production and has successfully led Peak through a number of successful transactions in several basins.  Jack holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and started his career in 1968 with Amoco Oil Company.  He has over five decades of industry experience. He also serves on the board of directors of Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. and Saddle Butte Pipeline III, LLC.

Justin Vaughn

CFO

Justin came to Peak in 2011 and has over 25 years of financial analysis and investor relations experience.  Justin holds degrees in Economics from Doane College and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver, as well as an Executive Development certification from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Matt Gray, CPL

Vice President- Land

One of Peak's first employees, Matt has been with Peak since July 2003.  He has provided land support for all of Peak's exploration and production plays. Matt received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 where he majored in Petroleum Land Management/Energy Management with a minor in Finance.  

Doug McCrady

Vice President- Production and Completions Engineering

Doug joined Peak in April of 2012 with a primary focus on Completions and Production.  Prior to joining Peak, Doug worked with a variety of Rockies based exploration and production companies focusing on horizontal completions and production.  Doug graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Marietta College in 2002.

Darin Stone

Vice President- Drilling Engineering

Darin joined Peak in 2018 bringing with him experience drilling in both the Williston and Powder River Basins with SM Energy.  Prior to drilling, Darin worked as a Production Engineer on various waterflood and carbon dioxide floods across Wyoming. Darin received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech in 2009.

Glen Christiansen

President & COO

Glen joined Peak in March 2011 and currently serves as Peak's President and Chief Operating Officer. He oversees Peak's geologic responsibilities including identifying and evaluating potential prospects.  Prior to Peak, he worked in various geologic capacities for Exxon/XTO Energy in Fort Worth, TX and Burlington Resources, in Farmington, NM.  Glen graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Oklahoma State University, then in 1995 with a Masters of Science from University of Wyoming in Geology.

Donald Buckner

Vice President- Accounting

Don has been with Peak's accounting group since 2004.  He brings with him over 30 years of financial management and accounting experience with the majority of it in the energy sector.  Don obtained a Bachelor or Arts, Business Administration Degree from Washington State University.  In 1997 he was certified as a public accountant in the State of Louisiana.

Tom Loveland

Vice President- Reservoir Engineering

Tom joined the Peak team in November 2015, after nearly 19 years in industry with Burlington Resources, Encana, Samson, and Anadarko.  His work experience covers production engineering and completions, but the vast majority has been in reservoir engineering and project management.  Tom graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana Tech in 1996.

William Sawyer

Vice President- Technical Services

Will joined Peak as a geological engineer in 2003.  Will began his career in 1995 at Halliburton as a wireline engineer.  He received his degree from New Mexico State University in Geological Engineering in 1995.  Will has over 20 years experience with multiple stack pays in the Rocky Mountains both vertically and horizontally.  He is a member of the Durango Petroleum Club and Four Corners Geological Society.

Daneka Ewert

Vice President- Environmental and Safety

With a background in industrial, aerospace, and extractive industry environmental and safety operations, Daneka joined the Peak team in 2013. Daneka received her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Weber State University in 1994, and has over 25 years of experience in environmental compliance and permitting, as well as pollution prevention and program management. Daneka is a member of the Women’s Energy Network and the National Association of Environmental Managers and volunteers and serves on the board of directors for numerous civic groups and charitable entities.
